I am an unabashedly sarcastic individual and when people meet me they often find it difficult to figure out if my responses and comments in conversation are genuine. That said, I am very much humbled and excited about being nominated for this award. Though the nomination came from a friend, it should also be understood that he is my most honest critic, second only to myself.
So, thank you James (aka The Sneaky Squirrel)…
I have taken the award rules from the award creator’s site and listed them below, for those of you who choose to accept the nomination.
Rules for the STARLIGHT Blogger Award:
- Thank the giver and link their Blog to your post.
- Answer the 3 original questions and then the 3 new questions from your nominator given to you.
- Please Pass the award on to 6 or more other Bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated by you.
- Include the logo of the award in a post or on your Blog, please never alter the logo, never change the 3 original questions (answer that first then answer the 3 new question from your nominator), and never change the Award rules.
Original 3 Questions:
Question 1: Which fictional reality would you be happiest living out the rest of your days in?
Answer: I could happily live out my days in the DC Comics universe if I could do so Dr Manhattan. Failing that, I think I would rather enjoy living out my days as Boss of the Third Street Saints in Saints Row IV.
Question 2: Which person do you respect most? Can be fictional or real, known personally or not. You also don’t have to necessarily like them.
Answer: Dr Colin Richards, an ex-boss of mine who passed away in 2012. He was an amazing human being, with unwavering moral center and indestructible integrity. He was my mentor and my friend.
Question 3: What made you want to start blogging, and what’ve your experiences been like so far?
Answer: 50 Shades of Grey and the horror that book brought with it. I had already kinda been involved with the B-Horror Blog but that god awful “book” finally convinced me to start my own review blog with a focus on shitty literature. Overall, this has been a fun and informative endeavour. This things that I have learned about human (female) anatomy through the craptastic erotica that I sometimes endure has been eye-opening.
The community is great and generally, readers and other bloggers have been extremely welcoming, constructively critical and humorous.
Question 1: You wake up one morning transformed into a character from The Simpsons; which one are you and why?
Answer: Either Patty or Selma. Probably Patty. Mostly because I smoke like a chimney and gain great joy from ruining fun situations for people I dislike.
Question 2: Of your own blog posts, which one is your favourite and why?
Question 3: If you could live in any historical period, which would you choose and why?
Answer: This is a tricky one, especially as a woman and a person of colour. Taking racial relations into account, considering gender inequality and the availability of sanitary products, it’s difficult to choose. Furthermore, I have this pesky need to be clean and enjoy regular baths and showers. I think I’d have to go with the 19th Century. Though not very precise in nature, this century was a time of great change, innovation and revolution. It saw the abolition of the slave trade by the British, the invention on electrical relays, the lightbulb and Morse Code. It was also a time of Liberalism, and the growth of Empire.
My Questions to my nominees:
- If you could visit only one city in your lifetime, which would it be and why?
- If you could have any superpower, which would you choose and why? Only one superpower.
- If given the option, would you travel 2000 years into the past or into the future, and why?
- Tim’s Film Reviews
- Game, Complain, Repeat
- Slatethesilver Screen
- Rare Horror
- Super Movie Maniac
Thank you again to James and may this be a prosperous year of blogging for us all. Happy 2016 everyone!
