Announcement: New Blog – Nightmares and Other Things

NightmareAfter yet another horrible night of fitful sleep and grotesque nightmares, I’ve decided to blog about my dreams. They are rarely pretty and often feed my insomnia. I’ve never written them down before, so I’m hoping that this will be therapeutic in some way.

I will continue to review books, movies and games here at Literary Homicide, but if you are interested in the macabre and find yourself up late at night, with nothing to do, hop over and let me know what you think.

New posts will be added within the next few days, but in the meantime, here is the first post.

    • Oh man, both my mom and brother used to suffer from sleep paralysis. It’s terrifying when you have no idea what is happening or how to stop it.My brother also sleep walks, and I sleep talk (including manic laughter and crying, I’m told).

      • I always see a black shadow coming towards me, me trying to scream but can’t and just shutting my eyes. At which point a woman whispers in my ear. Whoa that would be soooo freaky man!

        • Yeah, my brother has told me a few of his experiences and it always amazes me how sleep paralysis manifests in similar ways for so many different people. He sees a woman, an old woman, who sits on his chest and tries to choke him. Obviously, he can’t move, he struggles to breathe and he can’t even blink sometimes.

He’s not had an episode in many years, thankfully. I cannot think of anything more terrifying than not being able to breathe and not being able to move. And this coming from someone who has woken up in the middle of surgery!
